The 'fire' looks great and not fake
I'm loving this electric fireplace. The 'fire' looks great and not fake. I live in Texas, so it's nice that the heat it generates isn't too overwhelming, similar to a small space heater.

works, but has some flaws.
Item is double boxed as other reviewers have stated. Assembly is easy, requiring only a phillip's tipped screw driver. The only thing I would add to that is to make sure you insert the tabs on the legs into the slots on the underbelly of the unit so as to secure them properly (you'll see what I mean if you buy one). After assembling the four legs set the unit where you want and plug it in. Controls are behind the door and consist of a flame height control and a temperature control, and an on/off switch. Turn it on and adjust the flame height. The unit is 'almost' silent in this mode, mine makes a slight knocking noise and this may vary unit to unit. Turning up/on the temperature control kicks on a heating unit and fan. In a completely silent room this actually a bit loud. I have a sound level meter and tested this: completing silent room in my home measures 35.3 db. Turning on this heater boosts that up to 43.8. That is almost twice as loud. the mic was level height to the unit and about 3 feet away.It does put out heat. I have a thermometer in my family room and it will heat it from the 71 degrees my furnace keeps it at all the way up to 75 degrees if I turn the temperature control all the way up. My family room is 13x20 with 8ft ceilings. My biggest gripe: The unit's temperature control is a neat feature. If you turn it all the way up it will run forever if your room is decent size because it is trying to reach a temperature point that it probably cannot reach. But turn the knob down 3/4 or 1/2 and the unit will kick off after it thinks it has reached that temperature. Then 30 seconds later it will turn itself back on. It will then run for a few minutes and repeat that process to infinity. Off on, off on, off on. Very annoying especially is a completely silent room.Would I buy it again? Probably. The constant off on cycling is annoying but we humans can adapt to a lot of unpleasant things if the good outweigh the bad. Besides, I can simply turn the temperature control all the way up and either let it run trying to reach a temperature it cannot reach, and then when my room is comfortable I would just turn the whole unit off completely.

... didn't go away & was loud enough to be annoying. However
Had a rattle from the motor that just didn't go away & was loud enough to be annoying. However, I returned the item & the process was quick, easy & without any hassle. Thank you for that!

Rancher's faux fireplace
I am pleased with my heater, it does what the advertisement said . Although I wish it was larger as my area is larger than 400sq ft. I like that it looks like an old-fashioned heater and fits in with my Western decor.

Love this fire
Love this fire!! We bought it to fit into a fireplace to give our living room a cosy feel and a bit of extra heat this winter. It arrived fast and exactly as described, and fits absolutely perfectly in our fireplace! It makes a little noise when you have the heater on, but nothing you really notice. In the evening we often have just the fire on without the heat. So so thrilled with it.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PURCHASES. :)
THIS HEATER IS SO CUTE. I LOVE IT. :) I HAVE IT IN MY LIVINGROOM WHICH IS ON THE SMALL SIDE, AND ITS TO ADORABLE. THE FLAMES ARE VERY REALISTIC. AND I LIKE HOW YOU CAN ADJUST THEM HIGH OR LOWER. NOT HAVING GLASS AROUND THE FLAMES IS FANTASTIC, BECAUSE WITH THE WIRE MESH, THE FLAMES ARE EVEN MORE REALISTIC. THIS HANDSOME GUY WOULD GO ANYWHERE IN YOUR HUT. :) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! :)

they LOVE it!
My siblings and I bought this for our parents for Christmas after they commented on my electric fireplace. They had no idea they were getting it... they LOVE it!! When it arrived, I was happy to say that I only had to connect the legs and nothing else. The fire is quite realistic looking and it sends out a nice amount of heat. We are all very pleased with it and I would definitely recommend it!
